FEATHERWEIGHT AND BANTAM Football Pick-Up Policy Effective 10/12/22

Parents may not wait in their cars for the kids to come to them after practice. All parents must physically be at practice pick-up to gather their athlete and walk him/her/them to the car. The athletes are to make sure they let the coaches know their parents are there, and then they will be allowed to leave.

Please remember that you can be ticketed for parking in the no parking areas.

PARENTS: Please make sure you have the SportsEngine app and you are receiving notifications. This is the main way coaches will be in contact with you. The coaches only have access to your email and phone # if you have updated your SportsEngine profile, but they don't have a way to send out mass texts.

Also, please have a conversation with your athlete(s). The coaches will be having the same conversation with the teams. There is always be someone at the fields until all football athletes have been picked up, so please make sure your athlete understands that they are not allowed to leave alone.

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Below are the remaining 2023 Board of Director meeting dates:

  • December 13 - This will be our annual election beginning at 7:00pm (location TBD).  Please see our by-laws, which are posted to our website, to view who is eligible to vote in our annual election.  The annual board meeting will take place immediately following starting at about 7:30pm.

Sports Engine App for Communications & Calendar

Effective Nov. 2019, the Colts moved to a new web service provider, which also means we have rolled out a new app to be used by our coaches, TCs and athletes for all communications, team planning, calendaring, etc. This change will enable our communication to improve tenfold over years past.  This app is downloadable for both iPhone and Android. Please go to the Apple Store or Google Play and search "SportsEngine" (see logo picture to the right). Please make sure you login using the same email as the one that was used to create your athlete's registration. If you don’t see your athlete's team or name once you are logged into the app, send an email to

Withdrawals and Refunds Policy

effective 1/20/21

  • Grayslake Colts has a “no-cause” policy.
  • Refunds are based on the fully assessed registration fee, not a point of time in the payment plan process.
  • Cheer Camp sessions do not qualify for any refund.
  • Fall football, cheer and dance sessions, a no-cause refund of 50% will be granted when requested in writing/email to the President.
    • Spring 7-on-7 Football must request their refund no later than midnight on Monday, April 17, 2023.
    • Fall Cheer must request their refund no later than midnight on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
    • Fall Football must request their refund no later than midnight on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
    • There will be no registration refunds after these dates, no exceptions.
    • 7-on-7, Flyweight and Spring seasons are not applicable towards a multi-athlete discount.
  • Force Majeure: Our refund policy does not change based on natural disasters, acts of God, or any other unanticipated events such as these.
  • Refund requests can take up to 60 days to process, and they will be issued back to the original form of payment; no exceptions. If more than 180 days have passed since the original payment was made, a check will then be issued, payable to the parent or parents who originally completed the registration.

Background Check of All Volunteers

All Board Members, Coaches, Team Coordinators and Choreographers 18 years and older must successfully complete a background check BEFORE they will be able to take the field and/or work with children and represent the Grayslake Colts.  This is not only a requirement of The Grayslake Colts, but also ALL of our affiliates including The TCYFL, ICA, IDA, The Grayslake Park District, CCSD #46, and District #127.  Please register on the Colts website as a Volunteer - Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Coordinator or Choreographer.  Once approved, you will be emailed information explaining how to begin the background check process.
